March has been a little like the pictures below – busy, colorful and in all directions.
Anyone else feel the same? This month ci certainly had its highlights (a trip to San Diego, a wonderful time as usual, etc.), but I've never felt as if I had the time to breathe. Whenever I realized a small spot, five more would stack on top of me. And because I expect more of the same from April while my second semester of graduate studies starts to wrap up, I am adjusting my state of mind and power on through. I can do this.
Despite the madness, there were many bright moments of I'm so glad I'm here. School could make me mad, but I never doubted that this is the place for me at the moment. The following photos capture those bright moments perfectly.
The above pictures were all taken in DTLA, which I explored fairly recently for writing assignments. Ask an Angeleno on the region, and you're likely to get mixed reviews. (If you are not familiar with L.A., downtown is not Hollywood - they are a few kilometers distance.) The other day I Instagrammed a photo of a downtown corner, explaining how I'd fallen a bit in love with this part of the city. Rachel commented on photo and summarize my feelings exactly: "DTLA creeps me out, bored or makes me fall in love with it, according to the region per day." But in this particular area, that day, I was struck.
Below, a walking tour of the antique shops and street in Silver Lake art:
A dog on her balcony of Silver Lake above cold and a long hike in Griffith Park below.
And a couple more memories of San Diego that precedes.
The days, the weeks and the months may feel overwhelming lately, but if the photos above may teach me anything, it is to live for the little bright moments. And when I stop and look back, I realize that there are a bunch of them.
