Declutter and organize your desk to de-stress your life.

Your office says a lot about you. Whether it is your Office workspace or home from work. If you work in the world of business, in the sector not-for-profit or are self-employed, your desktop and the organization can say a lot on your productivity and efficiency.

Organization and cleanliness is essential, no matter how many people say they feel better with the background image. Clutter and disorganization are two losses of time, and in this hyper-connected world occupied, you must be organized for all keep on track and maximize your effectiveness. Whether you use your new found more time to work more or play more-it up to you – but know how to make more time to banish clutter and creating organization.

Tips to de-stress your desktop... and your life.

1. digital office

These days your desktop is not only on paper; a large part of our work and our Organization (or lack thereof) is made in the digital sphere. A messy digital desk is just as bad as a physical desktop messy. Keep your desktop and hard drive organized and tidy using folders and to come up with a filing system that works for you. Organize by type of project, date, ongoing or completed work, the name of the customer, etc.

In addition, tools such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote can be useful to expand your storage capacity and help you create an organizational structure.

2 calendar

Consider keeping a digital calendar, if you are not already doing. Keeping a digital calendar, you can have access at home, work and even across devices. Google Calendar is what I use, and I love that I can easily link to other calendars (such as the calendar of my husband) and I can color code elements. I even synchronize mine to my Facebook account, so my Facebook events appear on my calendar.

Calendar House and separate working days are past-our lives are too integrated and fast paced. Save time and organize themselves better by using a digital calendar.

3 Physics Desk

Even if a large part of what we do is online, we always end up being paper pushers. This means that you need to develop a management system of the pile of papers on your desk. Do not let your desktop become just a place of gathering for receipts, Bills waiting to be paid, and all the rest who must attend.

Create a clear system for how to manage inbound and outbound paper. I have a system in place on my desk: unpaid bills go to the same place, the elements waiting to be classified in another place, the elements requiring attention (such as the call to clarify a piece of legislation or following up with action) go in somewhere else, etc.. Whenever I sit down at my desk, my work is already organized and prepared in front of me.

In addition, discipline yourself to make your deposit regularly. I file items each week in my home office. Finally, decide what supplies you need on-site, i.e. stapler, scissors, stamps, pens, etc. and those handy organizers-keep keep everything remains stored it away.
